(25,250 posts)If Scripture says that women are not supposed to preach, why is the the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith jumping down the nuns' throat for not preaching against abortion and homosexuality? Could it be that the hierarchy is trying to hide behind church doctrine regarding sexual matters not only to intimidate the nuns, but also to hide their own complicity in protecting pedophiles in their ranks?
The Cardinal who heads it is Cardinal Levada, a right-winger from San Francisco, and he's known to politicize church doctrine. He was also criticized and accused of mishandling sexual abuse cases in Portland (OR) when he was an auxiliary bishop.
