Yesterday

I didn’t watch the game, so I can’t opine on whether or not the red card was deserved. Let’s say it wasn’t; you may well be correct.

But I was responding to the poster saying “let the players sort it out themselves.” There’s a reason that the card system was implemented many years ago, and it’s because a major principle of the beautiful game, fair play, was getting run over by the lack of effective discipline to address reckless play.
