We live in a time when memories are very short. People are overstimulated and barraged with media everywhere they turn. How quickly people have forgotten the pandemic and Trump's disastrous first term.
As for forgetting the pain, suffering, and destruction of World War II, most of the people who lived it are gone now, so we have to rely on education, which apparently has failed in many instances.
