Here's a test I devised: [View all]

You know, when you get an outrageously idiotic statement from an asshole like Tom Cotton, in which he stated that what he saw was two survivors attempting to flip a boat in open water and continue with their mission of transporting drugs, you pose the following rejoinder to him:

“All right Senator, since the notion of questionably-justified extreme violence pleases you, now just for the sake of argument let us hypothesize that there is a gun aimed at your forehead and I ask you to repeat that statement. If it makes sense and is even remotely likely as judged by an ordinary schmuck like me, for example, the gun will not fire. If on the other hand….well you understand what will happen”. I’m willing to bet he’d “revise his remarks” dramatically.

But you see, these people are allowed to say things like this and nobody shouts out, “That is the most fucking ridiculous thing you’ve ever said, except for everything else that you’ve ever said!!!” Nope. They all just stand there quietly, and WORSE, respectfully, and the Senator in this case knows that there are no boundaries for this brand of lying idiocy. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

If you talked like this in your dorm room, there is no telling what your hallmates might do to you or your room while you were asleep. Apparently the rules of society, decency, and morality no longer apply to these megalomaniacs.
