33. I was in the Army Reserve, so my experience does not include the Guard.

Most of the members of the Army Reserve I encountered came from the working class. There were several who were doctors, lawyers, accountants, teachers, etc.

No one would serve without the pay and retirement but few would serve just for the pay and retirement. People serve because they want to serve the country.
