(24,846 posts)It's been more than 2 weeks since the election, and people are hurting, terrified, confused.
Sure there might be something going on "behind the scenes" and nobody wants to tip their hand, but there are tens of millions who need some guidance before the end of American democracy.
Short-lived though it will be, Joe Biden is still the sitting president, and for the remaining 2 months has the opportunity to help out those facing disaster. Kamala Harris remains the VP and, for the time being, is well-positioned to advise 75 million supporters regarding preparation for the upcoming madness and devastation.
Radio silence gives only the impression of hopelessness and despair, when people need some directions on what to do next. Absence of leadership is invitation to panic, to act on confusion in an information vacuum, making poor life choices that will only compound the damage of the coming horrors.
We need to be hearing daily from those we trusted with responsibility to safeguard our republic. If they failed and all is truly lost, so be it -- that was always a risk, failure was always an option. Right now we need our leaders to lead, even if the destination is only ruin and sorrow.
