66. Sometimes a younger sibling is the catalyst.

I've read of a lot of cases where a child who has been sexually abused and kept quiet about it speaks up when the abuser starts in on a younger sibling. It's both touching and heartbreaking when a kid who has been putting up with gods know what will speak up to protect a younger sib.

I knew of one case personally where a boy who had been abused by grandpa blew the whistle when gramps started to abuse little brother. The hell of it is, that grandpa had also abused his daughter (the mother of the two boys), and (as per the pattern you mentioned) she never dreamed he would go after her kids. That was when she realized she needed to go 100% no contact with her folks.

And yes, incest/sexual abuse is no laughing matter, ever, no matter who it is.
