I've not traveled an awful lot lately - used to vacation in Georgia 40+ years ago - and generally stay away from the ocean. Not sure why, because I like it but I also have a lot of respect for it.

At any rate, I really want to have more empathy for folks who live around these areas, but I'm running low. I've read so much about seal level rise there is no way I want to be anywhere close and yet these folks build monster homes right in the way. There was a song many years ago with a line, "You cannot take a river and bend it to your will", and it obviously has stuck with me. Why do they put their homes right in harm's way?
