I apologize for this being a long email, but many have asked for recommendations of how to vote in the upcoming election. And yes, there is an upcoming election, in case you've been too busy lately to be aware of it; I know how that goes.
But literally, this is probably the most important election we've ever faced....
Democracy is on the ballot: The radical GOP is working to take voting rights away from millions, including women, and they are working to alter processes in states to actually overturn the will of voters.
Women's Bodily Autonomy is on the ballot: A GOP Congress literally plans to make decisions for women that should be between a woman and her doctor and/or a woman and her partner. Many of us are old enough to remember the countless lives that were lost and the very limited career choices women had before there were reproductive choices. GOP candidates are now even advocating making birth control illegal!! A Democrat Congress wants to codify a woman's right to reproductive choices.
Social Security and Medicare and on the ballot: Yep. A GOP Congress plans to make substantial cuts to both programs!!
So much depends upon our getting out to vote and voting FOR DEMOCRATS!! Please make your plan to vote, either by mail, early in person at the courthouse beginning ******, or in person on election day November 8. Make sure your registration is in place and up-to-date at the Auditor's Office in the Courthouse, with any new address on file. Voter registration deadline is ******. And be sure your friends get out to the polls, too.
