9. The Problem for Raskin

I love Jamie Raskin. His district abuts the one that I'm in, and I wish that I was in his. The problem for him, however, is that the Maryland Dem bench is DEEP. Chris Van Hollen, who he inherited the seat from, is young. Ben Cardin, however, is older but still going strong. Maryland's other strong Dems include Anthony Brown (my Rep), Dutch Ruppersberger of Baltimore County, Heather Mizeur - who is challenging Andy Harris, and John Sarbanes. Former governor Martin O'Malley is also in that mix. And then you have the County Executives like Rushern Baker. When Cardin retires, it's gonna be a real battle to see who replaces him.
