He wanted to be the one to hand the party over to the next generation. I think Nancy has said the same things.
I do believe our current leaders recognize the fact that their time in leadership is coming to an end and they are preparing to pass the baton over to the next generation.
I think Joe will pass on seeking a second term because of his age and the torch will be passed to the next generation in four years.
