In reply to the discussion: Trump May Have Cost Mitch McConnell The Senate With His Stimulus Check Sabotage [View all]Cinnamonspice
(170 posts)Before the election, Trump suggests for congress to go home and that we'll have a good stimulus once he's re-elected. Some thought that meant a Republican house to go with the senate. Some wondered then if Trump wasn't going to sabotage it if he lost.
Next, after a month of pretending to be on Trump's side, Mitch McConnell finally admits Biden is the President Elect.
About less than two weeks later, Trump declares he will not sign a six hundred dollar stimulus package. He could have been negotiating for two thousand all these months, but he didn't want to. Trump has decided if he's going down, then America is too.
I do want Democrats to get the Senate, but denying this stimulus will probably get people kicked out of their homes. It's awful.
