I was at DOL when Reagan won. HIs cuts screwed me and I lost my job and was demoted for 5 months. Luckily I got back to my old pay grade from which I retired.
I religiously followed all the news at the time. AT DOL I was able to see devastating trends Reagan was releasing. The GOP agenda was very clear from there. The PATCO firings was the nuclear bomb that started the entire erosion process. Now 37 years later the Reagan revolution ended up with Trump. The GOP has been successful at sabotage by thousands and thousands of cuts. The voters kept them in power just enough to allow them to poison the country.
Clinton and Obama fell into many GOP traps. And Clinton's new Democrat agenda is what sunk Hillary in the end. The effects of what he did to cooperate with the GOP made it difficult She was crippled by the result of some of his "bipartisan" actions. NAFTA was really key because it allowed corporations to strip the middle of the country of most of its manufacturing. There were thousands of medium production factories in the Midwest and South that made shoes, clothes, cars, appliances, electronics and many other durable goods. The real culprit was the GOP and corporations who stripped everything and left the middle of the country in a depression really. Hillary was associated with NAFTA and Trump used it as a sledge hammer and played on the resentment. Most of those voters blamed Clinton for push the GOP negotiated NAFTA and China favored nation status which hurt the middle of the country even more.
Plus the Lewinsky scandal is what eventually gave Bush the presidency over Gore. Clinton could not help campaign because of that scandal and Gore had to disavow him. It crippled him immensely.
No time to explain all the ugly details, but the GOP seems to win when the supposedly lose. And the most critical factor is the fact that the MSM has been compromised for years and has given the GOP so many passes and so much cover it is really treason. And they are doing it today and propping up Trump in some sneaky ways.
So my 37 years of judicious tracking gives me a different view. I cannot even begin to describe the deep evil and how sinister the GOP is. They are truly the seeds of Satan himself on steroids. They really are as sly as the Nazis were.
