I know how you and your wife feel. Although not a relative, a co-worker went to that extreme world on me. I walked into the lunch room to get something from the vending machine. He was the only one in there & he was watching Fox News. I said Fox News? They lie. He went nuts going after Hillary, Obama, Pelosi, George Soros and whoever else he vilified. I said you're on the wrong side. He sounded crazy. Then I realized that we aren't supposed to talk about politics at work. So I just said, let's just pretend this conversation never happened.
Karma? Over the weeks I wouldn't see him. One day I asked our receptionist about him. He fell off his house last summer when on the roof of his house. He was off work using the process we have at work. Then like many of the employees, you end up fired. I would never wish that on anyone, but talk about negative energy & Karma.
