"This was a vehicle vs. pedestrian felony hit and run on Highway 74 at Briggs Rd."
"Multiple witnesses followed vehicle and were able to get license plate—turned over to Menifee Police for investigation."
"Victim was treated for injuries at the scene."
The incident occurred in Perris, California—about 70 miles southeast of Los Angeles.

No real 'man' throws a woman to the ground. I slowed it down to 0.5x speed, went frame by frame. He dragged her, then whipped her on the ground. Her hands covered her face as he leaned down to hit her. Other ICE pulled him away.
He should be charged.

A judge on Thursday released his written opinion rejecting the federal government’s attempt to obtain Oregon’s unredacted voter rolls, calling its motives and claims “troubling” and “chilling.”
It built on U.S. District Judge Mustafa T. Kasubhai’s ruling from the bench last week.
“The Constitution specifically left the regulation and administration of elections to the states, understanding that states are in the best position to do so. While the Constitution provides for Congress to preempt the role of the states in elections, Congress has only done so in limited ways,” Kasubhai wrote in the 26-page opinion.

"They're inside my house with no warrant—I'm a U.S. citizen!" she tells 911 operator. "He's not an immigrant!"
The adults in the family—who were trying to protect the young children also present in the home—did manage to chase the 2 ICE agents away before they were able detain anyone.

The National Park Service has removed visitor brochures from the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Home National Monument. Among the anticipated changes? No longer calling his murderer a “racist.”
Edits to the brochure have removed that reference to Byron De La Beckwith, according to Park Service officials, who asked not to be named for fear of retribution. Other edits include eliminating the reference to Medgar Evers lying in a pool of blood after being shot.
Reena Evers-Everette, executive director of the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Institute and daughter of the couple, said the family has been told the matter is under review, “but the final product has not been put out yet.”
In 1963, Beckwith shot the civil rights leader in the back on the driveway of the Evers family home in northwest Jackson. It would take 31 more years before a Mississippi jury would convict Beckwith.
Jeff Steinberg, founder of Sojourn to the Past, which regularly takes students and police officers on civil rights tours to the home, questioned the change to the Park Service material. “You can’t call Beckwith a racist?” he said. “If you opened a picture dictionary and turned to the definition for ‘racist,’ you’d probably find a picture of Byron De La Beckwith.”.................
