The Way Forward

With the Rs having a trifecta grip over our freedoms the only way I see US regaining these freedoms is to ask for help beyond our borders.
Maybe there are those in our government who have already done just that.
The US is not a state party to the Rome Statute so why did AG Garland appoint Jack Smith, the chief prosecutor for the special court in The Hague/ICC to investigate F47s theft of top secret documents?
After AG Garlands review of the evidence collected in the top secret documents theft did he:
(i) conclude that interference in US elections by F47, also included other national and international bad actors and that this is why he reached out to The Hague/ICC?
(ii) refuse to release Vol. 2 of Jack Smiths report to the public because it contained evidence that war crimes, crimes against humanity or genocide within the territory of an ICC member country had been committed by F47, national and international bad actors?
In certain situations, the ICC has jurisdiction over the US and its citizens even though the US has not joined the Rome Statute. Some of these situations include when a citizen of a non-member country is connected with war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide on the territory of an ICC member country.
A CHARGE OF WAR CRIMES IN F47s FUTURE?
An article dated January 21, 2025 in ForeignPolicy.com, gives a reason why the cease fire brokered by Biden between Israel and Gaza is something we should follow. The final sentence of the article states: If fighting in Gaza resumes after the first six-week phase of the current cease-fire, and Trump continues to provide Israel with arms and military aid as it again bombs and starves Palestinian civilians, he could also be charged with aiding and abetting Israeli war crimes.
Earlier this month the U.S. House of Representatives adopted legislation authorizing sanctions against ICC officials because of the charges the ICC brought against senior Israeli officials. On his first day in office F47 took the first step toward renewing the sanctions that he imposed against senior ICC personnel during his first presidency. During his nomination hearing for SoS Marco Rubio stated that the sanctions were intended to be used as leverage against the ICC.
Every Senate Democrat voted to approve Rubios nomination as SoS.
SPECIAL COUNSELS VOL. 2 REPORT:
US citizens pushed for the release of Vol. 2 of Jack Smiths report and couldnt understand why Biden did not use his presidential immunity to release it before he left office. This could be a situation where there is work being done behind the scenes that US citizens are not privy to but that will result in a better outcome nationally and internationally. Think about it: If the charges against the two employees cited in Vol. 2 were dismissed by the court in order to make the report public the evidence Jack Smith and his team compiled against national and international bad actors would also be released. Time is not on their side.
According to Alex Whiting: There is no statute of limitations, but an investigation can sometimes be lengthy, just because of the challenges of collecting the evidence while the conflict is ongoing in real time, especially investigations against senior political or military leaders. Another cause of significant delay is trying to make the arrest.
Alex Whiting, is a visiting professor of practice at Harvard Law and the current deputy specialist prosecutor at the Kosovo Specialist Prosecutors Office in The Hague the same place as SC Jack Smith.
If there is evidence that the top secret documents stolen by F47 landed in the possession of Putin and Chile the ICC has the jurisdiction and authority to prosecute F47, Putin, and include China and any other national or international bad actors in the prosecution.
If Vol. 2 was not released because it contains evidence that provides a path for The Hague/ICC to prosecute F47, Putin, China, and other national and international bad actors, isnt pursuing this path more important to saving our democracy than prosecuting F47s two employees?
I have also read that The Hague/ICC can pursue RICO charges against national and international bad actors.
Look beyond our borders to see how all the pieces in this puzzle are connected and specifically watch NATO.
Thank you Earl G. for setting up The Way Forward forum on DU.
