The Way Forward
Related: About this forumWhat about DCCC "matching funds"fundraiser
I received a letter from Democratic National Headquarters offering a 11x match on my contributions to the Dem.Congressional Campaign Committee, as long as they get in before June 30. In other words, I give $50, Dems get $550. "A group of generous Democrats has agreed to march every dollar you give with $10 of their own."
I carefully follow fund-raising solicitations so I can find these generously matched offers and I largely ignore all other unmatched fund-raising.
Two questions:
Who are the "generous Democrats" who are offering the matching funds?
Does my support of matched solicitations tip the scale of Democratic Party policy-making to rich supporters away from everybody else?

(1,277 posts)Especially your local city council or state house or county commission candidates. They really need your money, and the national party isn't going to help them. $100 to a local rep will help them get yard signs or flyers printed.
