What's your worldview/purpose in life? Resentment or "Pursuit of Happiness?" (you live your politics)
Messaging:
The GOP has in recent times been entirely about resentment, to the point of creating it.
Democrats have been about sharing the wealth and lifting all boats.
I mention messaging because it's not the primary goal.
The GOP is all about concentrating wealth with only a few.
Democrats have been all about ??? How about rescuing the economy after GOP pillaging? Others?
Some argue that this cycle is how Democrats win. YMMV, of course, but

The GOP has adopted hate and racism as their election vehicle, in my time, since Lee Atwater and the "Southern Strategy" a.k.a. racism and projection. They talk a zero-sum economy, where whatever the {choose your minority} gets is at your expense, using resentment to cover up the fact that we are all fighting for the 10% or less scraps left over after the oligarchs sock the 90% away.
And when it sucks lemons, BLAME THE DEMOCRATS.
It's entirely about blame.
And socking away the money.
There are two powerful reasons why this works. Western philosophy has mostly adopted a "world-despising" attitude. This world is suffering or penance for some past thought crimes, and the only joy is to escape it (1)(2) Some guy in a robe later tried to correct this, but his message has been weaponized into one of hate and resentment instead.
Abandon all hope, and social legislation. The rich are Gods and let them have their way".
Second, our "old brain", the limbic system is wired for "fight or flight" as survival against saber tooth tigers, and lately, "those evil enemies of our way of life" where that way of life is vaguely defined and commonly the tail that wags the dog.
I remember John F. Kennedy's campaign, mostly of hope, as in "High Hopes", and the spirit of a bottom-up economy as FDR built, creating jobs instead of ruthlessly destroying them in the name of profits, and GOP hatred of FDR is nonstop. My uncle used every opportunity to deride that "socialism" that benefited more than a few.

Where are we now?
The GOP runs on resentment, and projecting all problems, real and imaginary -- created by their 24 by 7 by 365 hate and distortion machine on minorities or "anyone different".
Do you recall "The Biden Depression?, Well, they do, and they sent the Sheriff of Nottingham to defend the poor (by making them poorer)
They even create resentment, as in stalling all positive/progressive legislation on purpose for as long as I can remember, the only significant ones to escape their tar pit are being torn down as fast as they can these days.
Does hope and positivity have a chance?
Maybe only by the old economic pendulum.
Until people generally adopt an attitude of "can do" rather than "can blame", especially since "social media" control so many people with negative and distorted messaging, perhaps so, and even our Progressives have lead the attack, and rightly so, with the economic message, though they are undercut by defenders of that "Over 90% of wealth in the hands of a few" by a party that has conveniently forgotten the wealth disparity (3), which, frankly, is the cause of most societal problems.
LOOK! Drug Dealers, Immigrants, Canadians, Trans, CD's ... whatever.
Lately, insane actions entirely meant to cover up the largest sex and blackmail ring in the history of the world, "just might" weigh into the fight.
After all, it's the insanely rich who believe that they are above all laws and morals. "Droit du Seigneur", as with those horny as hell Norse and other gods who like to f*ck mere mortals, as their "divine right". (4)
That's hardly a positive message --- "Down with the Rich Pedos" but if it works, some house-cleaning might actually get done.

A culture of resentment will eventually turn members against themselves, but we haven't really seen that yet. Preachers still preach a "Gospel of Hate" and few or none are standing up to the unrolling of the "Fascist Playbook", currently plagiarized as "Project 2025"
