This forum is filling up with a LOT of threads about things that AREN'T either BS, gaslighting or trial balloons.

There are threads here on Trump's pardons.

On executive orders already being put into effect.

On at least one appointment he's made.

On major publications' articles about what Trump is doing.

On what Bishop Budde said, and his post responding to her.

On the Constitution being removed from the White House website.

NONE of those fit the purpose of this forum. They belong in GD (the articles possibly in Editorials).

And there are already threads about all those, I believe, in GD, except possibly the thread on the Bozell appointment.

If this forum is used in this way, it suggests that a lot of stuff that's serious isn't, and it splinters discussion of those topics.

2. This forum is fine if used for the purpose it was.created for. It'll be a mess if used for everything Trump

does or says that we think is stupid or outrageous. Much as we hate or laugh at a lot of what he's doing, he's already putting a lot of it into effect, or planning to and has the power to do so.

Now if he takes potshots at celebrities who offend him, that would probably fit here.

His doing the same to a bishop who reminded him of Christian values during a Christian service doesn't belong here.

3. The problem is virtually everything Trump does is BS and that's why I'm confused by 2 forums.

The Way Forward forum is fine, but Trump is Trump is Trump and 99.999% of what he does and says is insane BS making GD and this forum redundant.

No matter how crazy what he says sounds, if it has any serious effect on the real world or is likely to in the near future, it belongs in GD, not here.

From the explanation of the new forum...

For example, if Donald Trump uses Truth Social to call for an invasion of Mars, it would be appropriate for this forum, whereas if the Trump Administration orders the Joint Chiefs of Staff to draw up plans for an invasion of Mars, it would be appropriate for General Discussion or Latest Breaking News.

Taking that example literally, any mention of a plan to invade Mars would have originated from Trump's deranged mind or one of his deranged advisors. If he signs a crazy EO, you could say it was an Administration act but it's still crazy BS.

As I mentioned in another thread, there are some members who are offended (?) by any post referencing MAGA, Trump or Repugs in general, viewing them as platforms promoting the Radical Right's cause, which isn't an unreasonable viewpoint to take. So a forum dedicated to Trump's insanities eliminates the need to post something in the General forum that might offend someone.
