Trump Fires Jack Smith's Prosecutors; Wrongful Termination Lawsuits Likely to Follow - Glenn Kirschner
Donald Trump is on his corrupt revenge tour. As NBC News reported, "Trump administration fires DOJ officials who worked on criminal investigations of the president." And just a few blocks away from the DOJ, at the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia, Trump appointed Ed Martin - who has ZERO prosecutorial experience - as the District's top prosecutor. Who is Martin? This from PBS: "D.C.'s new top prosecutor advocated for Jan. 6th rioters and echoed Trump's false 2020 election claims."
Soon after he was appointed by Trump, Martin apparently decided a law enforcement priority for the people of DC was to open a review of all prosecutions of Jan. 6th defendants. As the Wall Street Journal reported, "Trump-Appointed Prosecutor Opens Review of Justice Department's Jan. 6th cases.
