The US is a big exporter of oil, too. The Saudis and Russians have given up with their drive to get prices over $100/barrel because the US picked up their slack. This will lower prices as Saudi and Russia will pump as much as they can to derive the income they planned on getting with $100 oil. More oil at a lower price. This is great for the US, too. We'll cut production, buy their oil and refine it here.

The real big money in oil isn't petroleum, it's the refinement to gasoline and chemicals no other other country can produce as well as we do: Saudi is not known for it's industry. And Russian industries seem for some reason all screwed recently.

TFG's crying wolf about the terrible state of US oil production is crying wolf.
