Think. Again.
(16,561 posts)...and now I'm wondering how many of trump's hardcore base were addicted to it, and does that explain their absurd fetish for him?

(10,406 posts)The producers thought they were casting a successful billionaire. When they saw Trump Tower they said it was awful, smelly rugs, chipped furniture, awful. They had to set up nice looking areas on the 4th floor exclusively for the show, partly for where the contestants lived, but they also had to set up a fake boardroom and offices because his were so bad. It was all a facade to give the impression of success.
Trump was a terrible judge with who he fired. It wasn't based on how they performed. When he fired people that had done great they had to go back and edit to try to make the person look bad so it wasn't completely inexplicable. They gave the example of David Gould -- most qualified, talented -- the producers thought he would probably win that series. Trump fired him on the first episode. They were dumbfounded. But they realized that the utter unpredictability -- something that was bad for DT in business -- was solid gold as entertainment.
Not exactly bombshells. I never watched the show but clearly the whole Trump "brand" they built through the show was all faked. Not surprising, but the inside scoop is sort of interesting.
