so called happened, most likely caused by flak flying randomly in the air from the original bullet(s). If, as he claimed, it was a bullet that caused his so-called ear injury, it would have blown his ear off, plus damaged his hearing somewhat, after all, a bullet flying through the air does generate a sonic boom, air pressure that can have negative effects, especially on the ear drums.
