Related: About this forumVance caught defying Trump with sneaky scheme - Another Day - Brian Tyler Cohen
BTC: JD Vance is skeptical of Trump's Iran war, but saying that in public could seriously jeopardize the safety of his future campaign. This is just another day.
Since Donald Trump decided to launch his war with Iran, everyone in his administration has been in lock step with their support. At least that is while cameras and microphones were around.
[cut to video from CNN]
Dana Bash: In front of his colleagues, Mr. Vance warned Mr. Trump that a war against Iran could cause regional chaos and untold numbers of casualties. It could also break apart Mr. Trump's political coalition and would be seen as a betrayal by many voters who had bought into the promise of new wars.
Reporter: Yeah, the vice president seems to have been the most forceful one in the room and sort of laying out more clearly what everybody else was trying to quietly express to the president.
[cut to studio]
BTC: Yes, according to a new report in the New York Times, JD Vance was the only one not whispering his worry and discomfort to the commander-in-chief. The story went on to say that Vance had described a war with Iran as a huge distraction of resources and massively expensive.
Huh. I can't understand why Trump didn't respond favorably to his concerns over a distraction of resources and a waste of taxpayer dollars. Truly one of life's great mysteries.
But thankfully, since the vice president clearly feels the way most Americans do that it's not okay for our commander-in-chief to send a decimation warning to the people of Iran, he finally had the guts to voice his displeasure publicly.
[cut to video at Oval Office]
Reporter: Given the past skepticism of foreign adventurism, are you completely on board with the current war in Iran?
JD Vance: I know what you're trying to do, Phil. You're trying to drive a wedge between members of the administration, between me and the president. What the president said consistently going back to 2015 and I agreed with him is that Iran should not have a nuclear weapon. We have taken this military action under the president's leadership. I think all of us whether you're a Democrat or Republican should pray for success and pray for the safety of our troops. That's the approach that I've taken. Make it as successful as possible.
[cut to studio]
BTC: Or not. What a courageous stance by Vance asking the American people to adopt the same outlook on Donald Trump's ill-conceived war as you. There's nothing we can do now. So, let's hope it goes well and the fewest soldiers die. I look forward to seeing that on all of Vance's 2028 campaign material.
Let's talk about the elephant in the room here. The vice president is clearly trying to play politics and take both sides of this disastrous war because he knows that besides it being wrong, it is going to be a massive burden for him in the next campaign for president. Which is why yesterday Vance was happy to echo Trump's threats.
[cut to video]
JD Vance: What we really want is we want a world where oil and gas is flowing freely, where people can afford to heat their homes and cool their homes, where people can afford to transport themselves to work. That's not going to happen if the Iranians are engaged in acts of economic terrorism. So, they've got to know we've got tools in our toolkit that we so far haven't decided to use. The president of United States can decide to use them and he will decide to use them if the Iranians don't change their course of conduct.
[cut to studio]
BTC: Hear that? That is the public support for Trump's war, which is exactly what Vance promised he would do if Trump made the horrible decision to enter America into this conflict. Mr. Vance, whose disagreement with the whole premise was well established, addressed the president, you know, I think this is a bad idea, but if you want to do it, I'll support you. And I'm sorry, but the phrase, you know, I think this is a bad idea, but if you want to do it, I'll support you, is what you say to your friend when they're thinking of dating Bill Belichick, not a 79-year-old dementia adult lunatic with the nuclear codes and a frothing desire to use them.
And besides JD Vance's pathetic cowardice to not speak out publicly on his disagreement with Trump, it's even worse that he's now leaking his purported anti-war stance to the New York Times because this is a tacit admission that he knows this is wrong. Here's a novel idea. If you want to be tomorrow's leader, maybe try leading today.
The reality is Americans have some pretty big questions about our vice president. Namely, who is he really? What does he really believe? And did he really have sex with that couch? And by the way, I'm not here to kink shame. I'd much rather have an elected official abuse a sectional than abuse girls at a private island.
But as to who JD Vance is, the real answer seems to be he is whoever the fuck he needs to be to continue his ascent to power. Everybody knows Jessica Dolores Vance is positioning himself for a 2028 presidential run, but it's clear that this man has been positioning himself for that run for decades and will say whatever he needs to say to win. Years ago, Vance became popular off his memoir Hillbilly Elegy, which recounts his struggles growing up in an impoverished household in rural Appalachia.
[cut to video]
JD Vance: The takeaway of the book is that community and family really matter. And I think anybody who ignores that is fundamentally not appreciating the actual reality that exists on the ground and the complexity of the problems these kids face.
[cut to studio]
BTC: That's right. According to JD, community and family are an integral part of succeeding in America. But apparently that message didn't quite reach our nation's billionaires. So JD man of the people Vance decided to change his tune and give them a little boost by casting the tiebreaking vote on legislation that awarded them $4 trillion in tax cuts. I guess community and family doesn't quite fill up the G5 the way it used to.
Now, I'm not saying that a person isn't allowed to change their views, but that is a whole lot of change as opposed to some small amount of change that one might find, let's say, between two terribly naughty couch cushions.
But who's deserving of tax breaks isn't the only pivot JD has made. Before he took up residence inside Trump's colon, he held some slightly different views.
[cut to video]
Host: Senator Vance once called himself a never Trump guy, saying on NPR, "I can't stomach Trump and once comparing him to Hitler.
[cut to studio]
BTC: Yeah. And not in the Trump really knows his way around some watercolors like someone else I know kind of way. But I guess for Vance, getting to be the Fuhrers running mate isn't an opportunity you turn down.
Or how about JD's views on the possibility of a draft?
[cut to video]
JD Vance: The thing that I worry the most about for this generation is that if we don't get foreign policy right, a lot of people in your generation are going to pick up the pieces and fix the mistakes of the current generation of American leadership and I don't want you to have to do that.
I do not want you guys to have to put on a uniform, not because you're patriotic and volunteer, but because your country forces you to because Kamala Harris has blundered us into another significant conflict.
[cut to studio]
BTC: So, if our nation's nightmare had become a reality and Kamala Harris had gotten elected, our sons and daughters would have been susceptible to a draft and sent off to war. But thankfully, Vance and Trump prevailed and our draft worries are over.
[cut to video from Fox News]
Maria Bartiromo: I want to get your take about this idea of troops on the ground. Mothers out there are worried that we're going to have a draft, that they're going to see their sons get and and daughters get involved in this. What do you want to say about the president's plans for troops on the ground? As we know, it's been largely an air campaign up until now.
Karoline Leavitt: It has been and it will continue to be and President Trump wisely does not remove options off of the table.
[cut to studio]
BTC: Nothing is off the table. Great. You know, if there's one thing that you can guarantee when it comes to JD Vance, it's that people are going to get fucked and some type of furniture will always be involved.
The sad reality is that JD Vance is just a big ball of blind ambition, a concoction of whatever it takes to get to that next rung on the ladder of power. He is a rust belt diehard who gives hands out to billionaires, he's a Trump-hating pacifist who's complicit in the likelihood of Trump's draft, and he's the father in a multi-racial family who proudly says shit like this.
[cut to video from NewsNation]
JD Vance: In the United States of America, you don't have to apologize for being white anymore.
[cut to studio]
BTC: Which really just sounds like someone's wife didn't love his idea of celebrating their anniversary at a Cheesecake Factory, so he pulled the race card.
And these days, once again, JD Vance is trying to take both sides on Trump's war in Iran because he knows that it will be a huge burden in his future presidential run. JD Vance is such a power-hungry coward, he would rather save his campaign than save the lives of millions of people. And I know that may sound harsh, but there's just no other way to couch it.

Vance must be a robot because a human would have said, "Where people can afford to fill their gas tanks." Either that, or the stress of lying can fluster you enough to say things in an awkward fashion as you ensure you have control over what you're saying.

He will try to remove himself of responsibility for this war when the country has gone to total shit. I dont think it will work. He has no charisma.
