1. Shame Mary is so heavily focussed on Donald.

In a sane, responsible and sensible society, someone like Trump would never have gotten into the top job.

He would have been thwarted at every step, with a 'Yeah, but no, this dude is incompetent and dangerous!'.

So why America?
Couple of reasons come to mind.

1. Politics is seen as a team sport.
One team has to win, and the other needs to lose.
And people support their chosen team for the silliest of reasons.

As a consequence, any political party or politician who wants to work towards the best for all citizens, is seen as weak or unwilling to 'play the game'.

2. Basic greed. Anti-cooperative mind set.
I need to get mine, and I will walk all over you to get it.

3. Elevating those who 'have made it' - be it riches, or popularity, etc - to some semi deity level and worshiping that.

4. Bluff and bluster and just being arrogant and loud, are seen as positive personal traits.

So yeah, I wish Mary would turn away from analysing Trump (again) and look at the big picture.
Aim her expertise there.

Will America be rid of Trump? Eventually.

Will America turn away from the mass ethos that got him into the White House?
In short, will America ever become a sane, responsible and sensible society?
I doubt it.

2. Thanks! And the reason we keep seeing Mary is because she's a clinical psychologist and since Donald is her uncle

She's known him all her life. I have her first two books and she not only talks about her family, but also about the history of this country.

I really don't get it since this is a country of immigrants, but it seems that throughout our history different ethnic groups of immigrants have been the ones to suffer prejudice. And it appears that this bigoted administration doesn't like any immigrants at all, though some more than others, and the mass deportations have been simply caused by this administration's hate.

This is a country of immigrants and none of us would be here if our ancestors, some more recent than others, hadn't had the courage to make the journey in search of a better life. And that is true of every member of this bigoted administration, including every member of ICE.
