Trump's Iran War: Here's How Much It Really Costs - Senator Elizabeth Warren

Donald Trump dragged the American people into a reckless, illegal war with Iran.

A war based on lies. And a war that was started with no imminent threat to our nation.

Can you guess how much the U.S. spent on just the first six days of the Iran conflict?

$11.3 billion. That’s the estimate. - 03/19/2026.

on charities, if they are lucky.

From the transcript ...

and now thy've added seconds to delete when copying

Rumour has it that he will seek another 200 billion in supplemental funding.

"2:232 minutes, 23 seconds their health care or groceries. The cost of war is astounding, and what we give each year to the Department of Defense is even more astounding. Last year, minutes, Congress gave the Department of Defense $1 trillion.
Trillion with a T. And this year, the Trump administration is preparing to ask Congress for $1.5
trillion and an additional $50 billion on top of that to fund Trump's war with Iran. That is a lot of money. Now, of course, we would be naive to think that an additional $50 billion is all the Trump administration is going to ask for. If you're a history nerd, you know that this is eerily similar to what happened
24 years ago. The Bush administration started a war saying, "Hey, this is going to be easy. We're only going into
the Middle East for four weeks, and it's only going to cost $50 billion." And how much did that war with Iraq actually
cost? $756 billion.
And that doesn't even account for the long-term costs associated with war, like caring for our service members and our veterans when they come home. That brings the total cost to at least $2 trillion...."

2. Well said. On top of the cost of this illegal war is that the cost of groceries continues to rise and the price of gas

Even faster now. Meanwhile, our brave vets are going to need lifelong health care when many ordinary Americans can no longer afford it. What about the American people who can no longer afford everyday needs while the price of this illegal war continues to escalate - and when is it going to end??

For U.S., Unmet Expectations in Iran Fit a Familiar Pattern in the Region

"Iran’s military retaliation, along with the political defiance of its new leaders, evokes a decades-old pattern of unrealized goals for American interventions in the region....

"The United States has a tendency to overestimate what political outcomes can be engineered using overwhelming military power while underestimating the fallout, said Caitlin Talmadge, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who specializes in Gulf security issues. “Air power is the U.S. drug of choice — we love to believe that it can achieve big political effects and also big military effects, yet the historical record doesn’t support that.”

While President Trump and other top U.S. officials repeatedly boast that Iran’s air force is extinct and its navy sits at the bottom of the sea, analysts noted that the country was never expected to take on the United States in a direct confrontation using a conventional military."

What would make this sociopath of a president think it would be any different this time - especially without consent of Congress?? Not to mention, Iran is a much larger country with a much larger population to draw from - and what does the felon-in-chief expect to accomplish in starting this unprovoked war??
