Outrage after Houston ICE shooting: new video emerges - CNN Erin Burnett Outfront

Federal officials’ version of what led to the fatal shooting of a man in Houston during an immigration operation this week doesn’t match that of three men detained during the incident, an attorney who spoke with them says.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials have said an agent opened fire Tuesday after Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a 52-year-old Mexican national, rammed a law enforcement vehicle and refused to follow verbal commands during a traffic stop that was part of a “targeted operation.”

CNN’s Erin Burnett looks at new video of the fatal incident and new witness accounts of what happened. - 07/10/2026.

Homan declined further comment on the ongoing incident. He did say "investigators needed to be given time to gather all the evidence, including body camera and cellphone footage," but laughably there is no body camera, dash camera and cell phone video. Homan also used the exact same phrase - "Let the investigation play out" - in the aftermath of the fatal ICE shootings in Minneapolis.

Homan further said "if the officers involved violated agency policy or the law, they would be held accountable." However, the officers who gunned down Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis have yet to be held acountable in any way, despite abundant body camera, cellphone and security camera video evidence clearly showing both were gunned down with no legal justification.
