Some top officials in the Trump administration like FBI Director Kash Patel, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have recently been plagued with scandals related to their personal and/or professional conduct.
Tom Nichols, writer for The Atlantic, and National Security Attorney Bradley Moss join Ali Velshi to discuss it. Nichols says theres a bunch of very child-like grifters at the head of the government. One of the things that's so striking about all these people is not just how amateurish they are, but how completely unfocused they are, Nichols adds. - Aired on 12/06/2025.

!
I have to defend my community of unfocused
amateurs from being lumped in with these turds ;-/..I have a splitting headache to top it off this morning..
Child-like grift of course is unpardonable
.And this isnt like some unfortunate gig worker, small time influencer or other such person who has to do the best they can in this foul economy. Who can blame people like that for doing what they can to make rent and stay afloat. I was fortunate to have a cushion to work on unfocused amateurishness..
These are serious grifters.

(248,263 posts)I stayed up this morning to watch Velshi since he's always exceptional, in his detailed explanations and his analysis, and I think it was one of his best! Good to see you, my friend!

(16,319 posts)I am glad that more of these videos offer transcripts these days. One reason I dont get the gist of some posts is I still prefer text to audio or video. Its the easiest medium for the chronically unfocused somehow.
You have stopped posting the Borowitz report lately. Is he no longer around?
I guess everything is pay-walled as well. And a friend was telling me that archive site is under investigation.
