There are around 260 million people over 18 in the United States.

That means, for almost 40% of the country, far-right brainwashing has destroyed at least one close relationship.

So Mr. Shriver, you're worried about the contempt some may feel toward those who voted to elevate a psychopath to our highest office? Fine. let's strive to set aside contempt for our fellow Americans who voted for that psychopath. Let's strive to stay connected to compassion and common humanity.

I know you mean well Mr. Shriver, but understand that for many of us, the cesspool of grievance, hate, anger, and lies our loved ones are immersed in makes them unrecognizable to us. We must separate, not out of contempt, but out of self-protection.

Understand too that our problem is not the contempt for Trump voters we may feel.

Our problem is the contempt Donald Trump shows for the constitution, laws, and public resources on which Americans and American businesses rely. Our problem is the contempt being demonstrated for the executive agencies responsible for carrying out our will as expressed in the body of law that represents the collective values of We the People. Our problem is the unbelievable magnitude of the damage that will be wrought by that contempt.

Half of the country is sane.

Half of the country is insane.

As one of the sane I will not be siding with any insanity.

You want me to be lawful in a lawless society?
You want me to me moral in an amoral society?
You want me to show compassion to monsters?

Nope not doing it.
