'Tough to watch': Why the Biden-Trump White House meeting was 'pretty enraging' - All In - MSNBC

Chris Hayes: “We cannot accept a status quo in our elections where if one side wins they have to scratch and claw to withstand lies, illegal challenges, and violent mobs. And if the other side is successful, they're invited to measure the drapes and gather around the fireplace.” - Aired on 11/13/2024.

or a peaceful separation.

Either way Russia and China ( and many despotic nations around the world ) will be cheering.

Trumpism is not going to die, even if Trump dies. It may diminish without Trump... but now that the path has been established, someone else will follow it. And the idiots will follow that person.

And we can't keep trying to fight this war for the soul of America. I know... I've been fighting since Nixon and Raygun... and the fight only gets worse with each leader the other side latches onto.

This is the reasons for the decidedly uncivil war, part 2.

We can avoid a war by splitting the nation into 2 or even 3 sub nations... however it leaves many of "us" living in red states and many of "them" living in blue states... plus there is the solidly red strip of states from the Gulf to Canada that we think might turn blue but reality is nah... not so much.

I don't have a solution... but I am pretty damn sure there will never be the "UNITED States of America" ever again... for at least 40 or 50 years, where MAGA is relegated to the John Birch Society ( the 1950s and 1960s ) and the Aryan Nations kooks. Not unless aliens from outer space attack.

I never thought of Eisenhower or Kennedy/LBJ and polarizing. But every President after that with and (R) after their name seems hellbent on not just winning but killing Democrats - communists, socialist, etc. We always say Nazi but only after they label us as commies.
