What a fucking sick clown

(222,072 posts)I have her book (on disc) and it not only gives a comprehensive rundown of what led up to and transpired on January 6th, but it also names names of who conspired with TFG and continued to support him even after the violence and death (Kevin McCarthy, Gym Jordan, Mike Johnson, Josh Hawley). Liz Cheney also accepted Speaker Pelosi's invitation to serve on the January 6th Select Committee and worked awfully hard - despite attacks from fellow Republicans. Her book chronicles her work there and also includes recorded testimony. And she continues to do the next right thing despite all it has cost her.

(222,072 posts)He wouldnt know how to load it. Might even look down the barrel to see if it was loaded. Shoot himself in the foot. Fall over if he tried shooting it. Break his finger while trying to shoot it. Kickback would hit his face. Try to put the shells in backwards while saying he knows more than anyone else about guns. Fall just trying to walk on gravel or grass. Did you see he had a walkway built at the airport so he wouldnt fall or get his shoes dirty.

(222,072 posts)And I did hear about his new walkway - reminded me of his refusal to go outside in the rain! And this delicate flower who is so concerned about his appearance is the one who Republicans support as POTUS to take those 3AM phone calls?!

(7,892 posts)he actually pronounced "Kamala" correctly? I must say my jaw dropped.
If I have said this to you before, I apologize. Very few people get it so I tend to proselytize for it. But politics is nt two,-dimentional. Right and Left refer to economic theories. there ois also an up and down dimention, where up represents authoritarian and down represents egalitarian. See The Political Compass (it's a dot org) for a fuller explanation, a graph with pictures of people who fit into different places, and a quaestionnaire which will give you your cooirdinates if you wish. (I admit i have changed one of their descriptive words and will defend that if necessary. (Mt coordinates are both between -7 and -8 incidentally.)
A;l that was to lead up to my perception that Liz may be on the wrong side of right and left, but by Golly she is on the right side of up and down. And at this moment in history, nothing is mor important than that. Especially considering all the cowards who aren't.

(222,072 posts)And I have Liz Cheney's book on disc, have been listening to it again in my car. I've probably also mentioned this before, but I certainly recommend it highly, she names names and give details about TFG's 2020 election results denial and the horror of the siege on the Capitol on January 6th. And we know that she was on the J6 Committee at the invitation of Speaker Pelosi, we all followed their incredible work here on DU. My question is when will we finally see legal repercussions for a convicted criminal who tried to overthrow the government - and do we doubt that he'll attempt it again??

(7,892 posts)when will we see him in jail? (Incidentally that would make a great last line for anyone who has the time and creativity to write a parody of Barry Manilow's "Weekend in New England" - it's been an earworm for me for some time but I just don't have the time and energy.)
I expecit it will be first in New York or Georgia. But I wouldnt rule out a federal prison. That "Appendix" of Jack' Smith's was a masterly job of explaining why Jan 6 had zip to do with official acts. "Masterly" is nto just my word, it's been used by knowledgeable attorneys in regard to it.
Andm yes, it's slow. t's been slow. It will continue to be slow. Sure, a defendant has a right to a speedty trial - but also a right to seek postponements if the defendant does not want a speedy trial. In my experience, not as an attorney or any court-related employment, but as an observer from outside, it is when the courts are slow that they are doing their job - and giving cases the attention they deserve. It's when they go too fast that defendants can get railroaded, or conversely, people who should be defendants get away with stuff. Yes, it's agonnizing for victims - ans we are all victims of Trump**.Not that I claim to be as smart as other people who are saying similar things.
