These Republican Attorneys General want more teen pregnancies - Velshi - MSNBC

Three Republican attorneys general from Idaho, Kansas, and Missouri are seeking to revive a lawsuit over mifepristone, which the Supreme Court dismissed in June due to lack of standing. In their amended complaint, they argue that expanded access to abortion pills has lowered teen pregnancy rates, reducing the states' populations and potentially costing them a House seat and future federal funding.

Once opposed to teen pregnancies, Republicans are now claiming a state interest in forced births. “We’re at a point where conservative attorneys general are actually arguing that preventing teen pregnancies harms their states- it’s really remarkable,” says Mary Ziegler, a law professor and historian at UC Davis Law School. This only “underscores the stakes of the election,” she adds, noting Trump could elevate extremist judges. - Aired on 10/27/2024.

He should be an embarrassment but not in a red state. Yes this is what three AGs are pushing. How bout pre teen pregnancies? Ya know, rape victims. More people, more fed money. Don’t red states bitch about other red states taking fed money?

Incredible argument for standing. A desire to not reduce states populations. By forcing teens to have babies. Any discussion of states forcing teens to get married in a Christian manner? Ya know the Christian manner, give us your money regularly for the rest of your life.

I wonder if those three considered immigration to increase state populations. I make myself chuckle.

Which group would benefit states' economies and which would require aid - and yet Republicans claim to support families??

I’ve been having a difficult time viewing videos. I’m told to sign in which hasn’t happened in the past. Sign in to what? I guess I’ll figure it out. I’m to the point where I dread doing any kind of business on line. Whether retail or personal finances.

Was your congress lady at the hate fest tonight My Dear?

Fortunately, I haven't been affected - yet. And I haven't checked to see if my national embarrassment of a Rep. did one more cringeworthy thing today, but I would put nothing past her. Fortunately, I've seen far fewer campaign signs for her than I have in the past, I'm not holding my breath, but she has a worthy opponent so I have hope.

The Dems have an awesome candidate in our district. She is quantum leaps more capable then her (R) opponent who is literally a career politician. Two years ago he got his butt kicked in the governors race.

Yeah Kansas, we have a wonderful female democratic governor.

And kudos to your candidate, if you can do it in Kansas, there should be hope for New York. It would have been nice if she had received some national support. We finally managed to defeat a long-time Republican Rep. who the local paper said "could have the job for life, if he wanted it" when former President Clinton came to this burg in 2006 to campaign for the Democratic opposition. There was SRO to hear him speak and he was brilliant - and it worked! *sigh*

after getting that message:

1) reload the page
2) tap the “video window” towards the lower right corner
3) if you did it in the right spot, it should open a new window directly in youtube.

i believe what may be happen is that someone posts a video here, lots of “unexpected” clicks from the same site (DU) starts happening, and YT’s servers start thinking those clicks are coming from bots.

This last abortion pill case was dismissed due to a lack of standing which requires some real injury. In the dismissed case, some RWNJ doctors argued that they had standing because they might treat someone who took this medicine. This latest argument is really stupid.
