that Donald Trump has her strong endorsment, and LIndsey Graham does it as well but more subtlety, Ted Cruz looks down just to see if his balls are still there.
Thanks for the thread Rhiannon

(60,171 posts)unless you stumble across it in the dark through some internal earth shaking type epiphany, you revert back to the first two stages of moral development, reward and punishment become your preeminent and almost exclusive concerns.
You lose your moral courage along with your moral compass.
That's my take on it anyway.

(222,500 posts)On the other hand, TFG's only experience was working for his father who made him vice president of his company while other employees did the work. And when he tried running casinos on his own, they all failed, despite his father's millions in an effort to bail him out. And this is the guy who Republicans support to run the largest economy in the world?! Coincidentally, President Obama is making this point right now.

That's what "reality" T.V. programming of The Apprentice television series did for *rump's image, the illusion of a successful businessperson over a 14 year period of time while in fact he was a failure and incompetent. They promoted him as a sound or worthy judge of good business practices.
That was a soft propaganda lie to tens of millions of Americans over that 14 year time span, particularly for people that didn't live in New York and weren't familiar with *rump.
I believe some of the makers of that T.V. program have recently stated that they regretted their part in it.
I believe that so far enduring propaganda lie is what the backbone challenged "experienced Republican members of the Congress that should know better" are still afraid of dealing with.

(222,500 posts)At the very least, it was certainly scripted, and from what we've heard recently, TFG was severely challenged just trying to deal with that. But you're right, this fiction no doubt had an effect on those viewers gullible to believe that this was "real life!"
My first view of him was as a guest on with David Letterman. I almost changed the channel since this guest was an obvious jerk. He was going on to Dave about "the Mosque at Ground Zero" - how inappropriate it was after 9/11 and expressing hate. However Dave, who repeatedly claimed to know nothing about politics, explained that what was proposed was a community center and put this hateful guest in his place. Not to mention, this offensive guy was also selling neckties - and all Dave had to do was turn them over and announce that they were "Made in China."

(6,936 posts)... while they turned this once purple state into a gerrymander nightmare that we still suffer from. The tides have turned slightly toward the better with the recent statewide election of a liberal justice to the Wisconsin State Supreme Court.
I'm not ready to consider Charlie Sykes one of the good guys, as I'm not willing to let Mitch McConnell try to get away with his recent "warning" that TSF is a dangerous man. The dangerous man McConnell helped TSF stack the SCOTUS with righting hacks.
Every time I see Charlie Sykes, I am reminded that he was at the forefront of supporting Scott Walker and others in gaining the seat of power, which they used to hurt others. Need proof? Consider Dobbs! Fifty years of women being able to make their own decisions about their bodies.
Skyes and McConnell helped that to happen.
