Related: About this forum'We all wanted to come to a place of unity': Palestinian Americans denied a spot on DNC stage - Velshi - MSNBC
The Uncommitted movement represents the at least 700,000 individuals who cast protest votes against Joe Biden during the presidential primary to demand a ceasefire in Gaza. They hoped that at the DNC, just one of the many Palestinian speakers they proposed would be allowed to give a speech on the main stage.
Not a single Palestinian American was given a speaking slot on the convention stage all week. Instead, Georgia State Representative Ruwa Romman gave a speech outside the convention center. We all wanted to come to a place of unity and a place of yes, says Rep. Romman. I don't really know where to go from here, to be quite honest. - Aired on 08/24/2024.

SAD.
V.P. Harris DID say she supports a Palestinian homeland, didn't she? Someplace to start, imo.

And it's long past time.

(2,656 posts)3. Palestinians have a homeland. It's being pulverized into dust. They want the bombs to stop
and the Israelis to get out. Doesnt seem that hard to understand to me.
(They used to have a much bigger homeland, by the way, but they can commiserate with the Native Americans over that, I guess.)

(135,937 posts)4. Right, I think she said SAFE homeland, or some such.
As to commiserate with Native Americans,

(12,775 posts)7. I can help you with that! Where you "go from here''
Is back home - where you hopefully do some organization stuff, knock on some doors - and then vote for Kamala (and every other D on your ballot) in November.
But, you juuust haven't quite brought yourself to the point of saying that yet. Have you?
