FULL SPEECH: Sen. Chris Murphy at the DNC: 'Kamala Harris is not weak' - DNC Convention - ABC News
Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Wednesday, a night focused on fighting “for our freedoms,” from democracy to reproductive rights and more.
Murphy described how former President Donald Trump helped torpedo a bipartisan bill that would have overhauled the country’s immigration system. The senator said Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, need hate and division “to survive in politics.”
“People are saying that they are weird and creepy. And they are weird. They are creepy. But even worse, they’re weak.”
Murphy added that Vice President Kamala Harris is the opposite and “tough as nails” when securing the border. - Aired on 08/21/2024.
