Freed Russian prisoner on plight of captives in 'Putin's modern day Gulag' - Velshi - The Last Word - MSNBC

Russian opposition leader Vladimir Kara-Murza was released in the historic prisoner exchange arranged by the Biden White House. Kara-Murza joins MSNBC’s Ali Velshi to explain why he believes “public opinion in the free world is stronger than any dictator.” Friend and activist Bill Browder also joins the conversation. - Aired on 08/16/2024.

Excellent question, especially since Putin is getting desperate, given that Ukraine has managed to enter Russia. Rhiannon12866 Aug 17 #2

I also didn't think he'll get out of Russia alive. I think Putin knew he couldn't have another Navalny, which is an indication he knows how much he's been weakened. The thing to wonder now, especially in light of Ukraine's capturing territory inside Russian, is will Putin commit some wild act out of desperation to try to signify he's still in control?

And I agree that those who go against Putin, like Kara-Murza and Navalny, are patriots of extraordinary bravery. Ali Velshi did not expect to see his friend again, grateful that he had him on his show and highlighted his visit to the White House with President Biden. And this also shows the president's expertise in foreign policy.
