Nearly died both from the crowd beating him and the cowardly attack with the taser. He was one of rhe first and still continues to speak out about the danger to democracy!

Brian Sicknick: U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, who was involved in the response to the attack, died the next day, on January 7, 2021. Initially, it was believed that he might have died due to injuries sustained during the riot, but the medical examiner later determined that he died from natural causes, specifically two strokes.
3. Suicides of Law Enforcement Officers:
In the weeks following the insurrection, several law enforcement officers who responded to the attack died by suicide. These include:
Jeffrey Smith: A Metropolitan Police Department officer.
Howard Liebengood: A U.S. Capitol Police officer.
Kyle DeFreytag: A Metropolitan Police Department officer.
Gunther Hashida: A Metropolitan Police Department officer.
