Note to JD Vance: Appalachia is in no need of political charlatans and their elegies - Velshi - MSNBC

Republican Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance highlighted his Appalachian roots in his speech at the Republican National Convention. Though his 2016 memoir “Hillbilly Elegy” is credited with launching his political career, it has faced significant criticism for demonizing the region’s 26 million residents. Critics argue that Vance’s narrative unfairly generalizes the entire region, overlooks systemic issues, and perpetuates a classist and dehumanizing view that enables ongoing exploitation of Appalachia’s resources. - Aired on 07/27/2024.

I found no evidence that he suffered any medical issue. Ali said he retired from the Marines. I can find no evidence that he did. He served one enlistment then left the corps.

And “retired” can be interpreted in many ways, but I can’t find where Vance has a medical or time served retirement. He was a journalist for the USMC.

Happy Weekend My Dear. We are looking at 100+ temperatures all next week. We are so fortunate that global warming is a hoax.

On Wednesday I ran errands and since I'd used my reusable bags for groceries, I found a paper bag with handles in my car, so used that when I stopped at the pharmacy. But that was a huge mistake, the skies opened up when I was headed to my car, the bag disintegrated and left everything I'd bought in the parking lot. But people were nice, a young girl brought me a basket and a nice guy stopped and helped me put everything in the basket. But when I finally got to my car, I was soaked and couldn't see...
