(635 posts)Focusing on candidates who know how to win in swing states makes sense. Winning Georgia again will take a lot of work, so we need to lock down a state like Michigan, Pennsylvania or Arizona if we can (and it looks like Gretchen doesn't want the VP role). Kamala will probably announce who it is sometime after August 1(after she's ratified).
(This could be just someone wish casting, but here is some potential news for you Mayor Pete fans: The rumor was that the spouses, including Chasten, were being deployed to different campaign events this weekend.)

(217,657 posts)Plus I take your point about swing states - too bad that Stacey Abrams isn't in the running, but two females might be too much of a shock for voters.
And I'm also a big fan of former Mayor Pete, he has the intelligence and the temperament, but of course it's not up to me. Thanks for the encouraging information!
