ProPublica: How Chinese mafias dominate the US marijuana black market

An investigation by Scripps News’ partners ProPublica reportedly reveals that thousands of Chinese immigrant laborers are being regularly abused and exploited in the exploding marijuana industry in the US, which is linked to an underworld heavily dominated by the Chinese mafia. This latest reporting stems from previous reports that Chinese mafias, some with suspected ties to the Chinese government, have taken advantage of state level legalization to become prominent in the marijuana black market in the States.

According to ProPublica, raids and investigations at more than 1,000 farms in Oklahoma over the past five years resulted in law enforcement finding abusive practices that included bosses threatening and beating workers, sexually assaulting them, stealing their wages and even confiscating their IDS.

1. as long as the customer is getting screwed with over priced cannabis there will be a market for the mafia

there is only one way to put them out of business - legalize and get the price down so there is minimal profit motive for a black market (unfortunately there goes the tax money too, but oh well)
