Spell Check for mobile

This discussion thread was locked by EarlG (a host of the DU4 Bug Reports forum).

Apologies if this is posted somewhere, and I read through the FAQ and bug forum, but did not see.

Maybe I’m just missing it, but I do not see the spell check option presented when posting, or via preview on mobile. iOS. 16.6

TY.

I'm not sure if this is a bug. I just took a peek at the DU3 version of the spellchecker on my phone and it looks pretty broken. I may have had difficulty getting it to work on DU4 so left it out. I figured modern phones all have built in spell checkers anyway so hoped it wouldn't be a problem.

It's been a while since I worked on these pages so I can't really remember, but yeah I think I might have left it out on purpose after having trouble with it.

I’ll be honest, if you look at most of my posts, there are those with iPhone typos, or those with edits to fix typos, so it’s not like I really used it. Just was testing buttons.

I like the My Stuff button glow and the Navigate button a lot

I notice that you have “Classic Smilies” at the bottom of the post body box. Does the use of “classic” foreshadow new smilies? That would be welcome.

Great work on this, the look is much more modern and still easy to get around w/o confusion.

Later.

Glad you like it. The "classic" smilies aren't meant to be foreshadowing I'm afraid, more like an understanding that these days it's easy to post third-party emoticons directly from your phone's keyboard, or whatever device you're using. Not that there's anything wrong with that -- I guess I'm just trying to tell people hey, don't forget we still have our old-school smilies
