Yang 2020
Related: About this forumSo - has anyone talked about the #YangMediaBlackout here?
It's been pretty blatant and still going on. Any thoughts?
This guy has a megathread on Twitter documenting most of the instances going back for a while.

(281 posts)Yang still has not convinced most DU members or the MSM of his political viability. What will it take? I find him smart, refreshing, and funny. He has articulated more policy positions than any other candidate. He is polling just behind the top tier, and yet gets removed/left out of important information. Whats up with that?

(115,164 posts)And when they ice him out but include people with lower numbers, there's just no justification.
Regardless he keeps moving up so I'm hopeful that that will continue despite these continuing incidents.
It does concern me, though, because some voters primarily get their information from cable news networks.

(38,958 posts)of discussion. I will say that at least on Wednesday CNNs Morning show which my wife had on at breakfast did take time to discuss automation, UBI and the fact that a few months ago no one was even thinking about those topics.
While I certainly don't trust the Cable Noise Media and severely limit my time watching the various brands of Infotainment. I believe Yang is about 3-4 steps ahead of the rest of the candidates and media in his thinking about the future. They are just starting to wrap their heads around what will be the new reality heading our way.

(115,164 posts)It's sad that it is so pleasantly surprising when Yang is asked substantive questions and allowed to speak about his vision for America, but many in the MSM do treat him as an unserious candidate.
Did you happen to catch his appearance on Maddow? So disappointing to see her treat her so very differently than she did Warren. I was also disappointed that she treated the issue of US election interference as something which had to be proven by him, when we all know that she knows this is a fact. Seemed a waste of time and a rather pathetic attempt at a 'gotcha' moment. I'm glad he didn't give her the sound bite she was so obviously digging for.
I just hope other people paying attention now are noticing the unfair treatment. It isn't right or fair. Sadly I have seen at least one person here who seemed to be happy that the debates limit certain candidates' speaking time.

(38,958 posts)as I don't watch her show (or much of any other of what I call the "Infotainment" Media). I know many here like her and I do respect her talents, but I can keep up without the talking heads.
As to him being treated differently, that is most certainly the case. I do find him able to dodge the "Gotcha" moments very well and deliver very reasonable answers to the questions behind the question being asked. Again he is running 3-4 steps of most everybody and that included those interviewing him from what I have seen.

(281 posts)I watched the interview, the question about US interference in elections seemed awkward, as if she needed confirmation. I thought Andrew handled it well, as the topic was foreign interference in our election. Are there really only 3 of us posting about Yang?

(115,164 posts)she just wanted a "gotcha" moment. Something that could be used against him later.
Something she didn't do yo Warren, instead allowing the candidate to go on at length about her vision for the country.
And yeah seems like it, so far anyway !

(281 posts)I have watched TRMS off and on since she started. She does a great job building story lines and explaining complex issues in an understandable way. Her interviews are not that good, except maybe the one with Rand Paul years ago. At any rate, Yang is always on his game during interviews, and he did well.
