It might help to rewrite the tax code, and get rid of the current system designed by lobbyists for the corporations and the rich. How is it that you and I pay taxes on even a modest income, and the wealthy pay little or nothing?

They can afford really expensive lawyers and accountants who help them find and exploit every little loophole they can. Normal people can't do that.

If I had my way we'd go back to FDR's tax levels. A wealth tax seems like a great idea but considering our legislature is further to the right than those in Europe, and they couldn't get it to work there, I don't have that much confidence in our ability to get it to work here.

They not only game the system, they built the system. Every piece of tax legislation written in the last 40 years was designed to benefit the wealthy, by lobbyists paid by the wealthy.
