Sen. Elizabeth Warren first Democratic presidential candidate to open Michigan campaign office

The Massachusetts Democrat’s campaign will hold a grand opening Tuesday at office space in southwest Detroit, a full three months before the state’s March 10 presidential primary.
"We're building a grassroots movement for big, structural change everywhere -- and that includes in Michigan," said Mike McCollum, the director of Warren's campaign in Michigan. "The campaign has over a dozen staffers and organizers on the ground already and will be opening offices across the state, including our Detroit office that will be opening on Tuesday."

But Michigan’s absentee ballots will be available to voters 45 days before the election, so voters will be able to start casting their ballots on Jan. 25.
“Don’t forget, absentee ballots go out in January, so there’s not a lot of time to try and persuade folks,” said former Michigan Democratic Party chairman Mark Brewer, who is a Warren supporter.
While no other candidates have a physical presence in Michigan yet, Rep. Laurie Pohutsky, D-Livonia, said there’s no such thing as too early.
