Bernie Sanders 2020 Announces North Carolina Staff Expansion and Four Office Openings
CHARLOTTE Today, Bernie 2020 announced a major expansion of its North Carolina operation with a slate of new staff hires and four field offices opening in Charlotte, Durham, Greenville, and Winston-Salem.
This news follows a visit by Bernie Sanders to the Tar Heel State last Friday that drew more than 5,200 energized supporters to rallies in Durham and Charlotte. Last week, the campaign announced two North Carolina Campaign Co-Chairs: Durham Mayor Pro Tempore Jillian Johnson and Hate Free Schools Coalition Founder LaTarndra Strong.
The Bernie 2020 North Carolina Team includes:
Brooke Adams, State Coordinator
Samir Sonti, Special Advisor
Danny Timpona, State Field Director
Vicente Cortez, Regional Field Director
Dom Brown, Regional Field Director
Hayley Goldstein, Regional Field Director
Seven full-time field organizers
We are building an unrivaled grassroots operation across North Carolina that will ensure Bernie wins on Super Tuesday and defeats Donald Trump in November, said North Carolina State Coordinator Brooke Adams. Our team of committed staff members and thousands of volunteers is working in every corner of the state to reach voters and expand our already unprecedented people-powered movement.
With just over two weeks until Super Tuesday, momentum for Bernie Sanders is surging in North Carolina. The campaign knocked on nearly 15,000 doors across the state this past weekend, and a new High Point University poll shows Bernie leading the Democratic primary field as the first choice amongst registered voters in the state. Bernie 2020 also recently launched a 5.5 million dollar ad campaign across North Carolina and other Super Tuesday states.
The campaign will host office opening events for local supporters at several of the new locations this Wednesday.
