Joe Biden is beating President Donald Trump by 6 points in Florida, a new poll says. A strong showing in the crucial swing state will be welcome news for the former Vice President.

Biden leads Trump by 46% to 40% in a University of North Florida (UNF) poll released on Monday. Trump won the state in 2016. It will be crucial for his reelection.

The Director of UNF’s Public Opinion Research Lab, Michael Binder, said people should view the poll with caution.

“I would exercise caution when looking at these numbers, first these are registered voters — not likely voters,” Binder said.

in Florida and the unemployment system deliberately designed to fail, it should not be hard to maintain-- and grow-- that edge.

Rick Scott designed Florida's unemployment system to fail Floridians. The cruelty IS the point.

The other 14% must be on ventilators. Nothing like a frightening deadly pandemic to scare the shit outta you...and maybe a little sanity INTO you. Keep up the good work, Florida.

But even that won't be good enough for Alafuckingbama.

Someone at DNC better be keeping a close eye on those nifty black-box voting/tabulation machines though.

Latin American-style vote rigging is second nature to Florida Republicans.

With this coronavirus pandemic going on, all bets are off. If we are still doing social distancing in November, who knows what will happen. Trump and his Russian buddies could very well use such a situation as cover for stealing the election. And if the situation causes a lot of potential voters to stay home, that would probably benefit the Republicans. As a rule of thumb, the lower the voter turnout the better it is the the Rethugs.

I wish I could wave a magic wand, and guarantee that election results everywhere be free and fair - but that, of course, isn't the world we live in. We can't take anything for granted - least of all in Florida.

They don't call it the "American Latin America" just on account of their large Latino population and balmy climate, you know.

Looks like DeSantis still has a majority of Floridians fooled...at least for the moment.

Seems to be a bit of a chameleon...

Gov. DeSantis' poll numbers are sky high. Why?

https://www.tallahassee.com/story/news/politics/2020/02/01/why-poll-numbers-gov-desantis-sky-high/4626059002/

nephew's FB page last night to say hi.. and he had some political posts there.

He's in St Petersburg, Florida and a Dem. The post was about how disappointing DeSantis has been in his response to the COVID19.. so I chimed in to thank him and say the unemployment insurance is a mess, too.

Then I saw there were a few ugly replies from magats.. one had a gif of trump shaping his mouth into a round hole like he always does saying "sad" over and over again. "My comment to him was.. "I always call him assface".

My other comment to one of them was that.. when trump knew about COVID19 he played golf and staged rallies while blaming it on a "Democratic HOAX" for 70 days.. adding that he is guilty of criminal negligence.

First time I ever replied to a sick trumphan but there they were.

says he really hasn't done anything to deserve such a high approval rating. My elderly father lives in Sebring and neither he nor any of his immediate neighbors like Trump but never heard them say anything about that DeSantis dude either way. He really has done a piss-poor job handling the virus in FL...constantly waffling back and forth. But maybe no worse than a lot of other Gopper Governors who have been putting their residents at greater risk than need be by their stupidity and stubbornness or fear of their Fuhrer.

Don't let them Trump assholes get you down, Cha. Some of the shit my partner tells me about that they post on Facebook are nothing but a bunch of incredibly insane conspiracy theories...scary stupid stuff what they believe. I think maybe future scientific studies will show that some folks had their brains fried by cell phone signals.
