Biden calls on Trump to appoint coronavirus 'supply commander'

Former Vice President Joe Biden is calling on President Trump to appoint a "supply commander" to oversee the distribution of medical supplies during the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden, who is running to unseat Trump in November, argued the president has put in place a faulty system to coordinate the country’s response to the virus, forcing hospitals and states to bid against each other to obtain critical protective gear.

"This public health crisis is foremost a human crisis, but it is also a crisis of supply, logistics and distribution," Biden said in a statement Saturday. "States, hospitals, and health care providers should not have to bid against one another, or against the federal government to get the supplies that they desperately need."

The former vice president said a supply director is needed to ensure the safety of front-line workers combating COVID-19 and unveiled his own plan to send materials to states and territories.

I love stories like this! Thank you for sharing this.

As for the actions described in the Propublica article, I can't imagine that activity is not criminal, but I'm not an attorney. I hope it is actionable & that his nasty ass rots in prison for this! 🤬

I had also read that as recently as last Monday, fed admin was still exporting tons of PPE sold to overseas. And I am absolutely all for international collaboration for humanitarian aid, but not when our own nurses & doctors are wearing garbage bags & many getting sick due to lack of PPE!

I'm not a medical professional, but essily saw the headlights coming through the tunnel long before the hoarding here began. So I stock up on tp & nonperishables way early. How could the "experts" whose job it is to be ahead of the curve on things like this be unawRe or fail to act? Boggles the mind, but not as much as how they have sold our medical providers out for profit. 🤬

I think the Propublica article explains the underlying reason Kush was so defensive about "our" ventilators. Really sick people! Murderers.

Back to reread the mom & pop innovators saving lives through ingenuity, despite the grifters! 😁

It kinda destroys Trump's wailing about how we rely too much on foreign suppliers to get our medical stuff when the suppliers we DO have in the country are shipping their shit overseas to make a profit! Then again, we shouldn't waste our time expecting an iota of consistency coming out of that moron's mouth.

If you haven't seen this yet it'll make you feel good...

They were doing this all over NYC and there are many more videos online that were taken at different hospitals around the city.

some GOP Senators were squawking about calling Hunter Biden in for some hearings over making a few bucks off Joe's name.

So one of Bloomberg's boys fired a warning shot over their bow. He said basically "Fine, you guys go after Biden's boy and we'll crucify Trump's crooked kids."

I love it when Democrats play a little hard ball.
