(3,308 posts)Fortunately some people will be able to work from home, but that's hardly possible for all professions. In addition to the loss of income, a great many people are facing the prospect of arranging alternate childcare given school closures. The company I work for is offering low-interest loans to employees who need the money to arrange childcare, but it's unlikely many employers will do the same.
Covid-19 is going to do a fantastic job of highlighting all the gaps in the social safety nets of many different places. That said, some of the panic seems a little overblown to me. It's not like we're dealing with Captain Tripps here, after all.

After 30 years in Washington he should know that only Representatives and Senators propose legislation, Presidents don't.
