Finally! Joe recommends actual plans. YES!!! Here they are

Mobile drive thru test facilities.

Creation of temporary hospital facilities.

Free testing and treatment.

Coordination among local, state and federal governments and agencies.

Free, widely available vaccine when possible.

Restoration of the Pandemic Response Team 45 cut

Oversight on spending to combat the virus

Immediate economic steps to stabilize economy and help those who live paycheck to paycheck. Not tax cuts or subsidies.

Step by step layout of populations that need help to eat, get education, maintain homes.

Paid sick leave during emergency

State and local emergency fund to combat each state’s unique issues

Look beyond borders and engage with the rest of the world. Lead a coordinated, global response.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

22. Joe Biden Offered Up a Presidential Address
Thu Mar 12, 2020, 01:31 PM
Mar 2020

He was calm, collected, confident and informed. Biden's address was in sharp contrast to Trump's monologue last night during which the Squatter-in-Chief looked and sounded as if a gun were pointed to his head. Trump's big suggestion? Close the borders to European airline travel. Really?

Mr. President/Imposter, the virus (foreign?) is already here. Shutting down more borders will not get the job done.

The market noticed the disconnect, futures falling 1000 points followed by a 2000+ drop on opening. The dive was so steep and quick that a temporary halt to trading kicked in. The Fed banged some drums and the market revived somewhat. But make no mistake, the Fed and this incoherent Administration is out of bullets. The panic rising around the country will not be quelled by lack of transparency, incompetence or misinformation.

Joe Biden reminded us of what an actual President looks and sounds like, someone dedicated to public service, not self-congratulation and misinformation. Just this morning, Pence completely ducked a question about actual numbers on positive cases of Covid-19, and Trump repeated the line that they've produced 4 million test kits. If that's true? Where the hell are they?

November cannot get here quick enough! God help us all.

Call on a selection of experts who were part of the pandemic response teams to flesh out some of these broad recommendations.

Also, one fantastic opportunity Biden has between now and the election is to behave as if he is president. Sure, he can't make stuff happen, but he could do as noted in the OP. IOW, if I were president, this is what I would be doing if x happens, if y happens, etc. Sure, this will require some finesse, but it would be fantastic if he could remind us what a real president looks like in action.

I'm thinking of Red Cross response in hurricanes and floods for example. They come with the goods. To local schools. And for anyone who's ever had an elder on hospice, a hospital bed can be delivered within 24 hours to your home. It might be an older model, but it's there.

So why not utilize the space we have available? School Gyms, auditoriums. Don't have to wait for FEMA. Disinfect, install, and populate. It might not serve the most critically ill, but it would be space for treatment and monitoring.

That is a must! It's certainly not something that the Orange Ass-Fissure would attempt, or even consider. This isolationist, nationalistic bullshit needs to end NOW!

We're a global economy and community. With Trump in the White House the rest of the world would just as soon leave us swinging in the wind because of Trump's boorish, incredibly clumsy attitude toward the rest of the world.

Special elections NOW to remove the largest (and fattest) obstacle to rejoining the world community.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Any proposal that is close to what Biden suggested will get rejected by the Repubs to not hurt Trump's precious ego. They can't support anything that came from Biden.

But contract check to contract check is worse. Will these people be protected?

Can I also add that Trumps "lets give loans to small businesses" is absolutely stupid. A tax cut doesnt help if your dont have a paycheck to be taxed. And a loan is absolutely counter productive if theres not income to support the repayment.

77. What about Bernie's outstanding presser with his plans layed out for all to see/hear

Funny how I see here and on Daily Kos all about Biden, Biden, Biden. Yet he did’t provide nearly the amount of details of just how he would handle everything. Instead, he directed people to his website. Yet Bernie spelled out everything that needs to be done, and emphasized now. Yes he pitched his M4A which he should do. It’s a necessity at this point and if this coronavirus doesn’t convince people I don’t know what will.

Both candidates did a presidential job of presenting their solutions and just what they would do if president. But IMHO Bernies was far superior, yet crickets from this site.

I’m getting more and more disenchanted with these allegedly progressive platforms.

I saw both. I enumerated briefly what he spelled out in detail so that’s not true. And I heard some good ideas from Bernie and posted that I thought they made sense and I was glad to see them. You likely missed that.

There are few posts about Bernie because the supporters are down. And though I see considerable ragging on him by Biden supporters it does cut both ways.

Don’t know what to say except I’m happy to talk but not bash or be bashed.
