The Wisdom of Solomon

Last edited Thu Mar 12, 2020, 03:41 AM - Edit history (2)

We all know the story about how Solomon acted when confronted by two women who both laid claim to the same baby. By threatening to cut the child in two and give each woman half, Solomon knew that the real mother would give up her baby rather than see it killed – while the other woman’s position was, “If I can’t have the child, no one should have it.”

I remember that tale every time I hear that we should be reaching out to Bernie supporters, that we need to offer them concessions, that our nominee is somehow obligated to adopt at least part of Bernie’s agenda in order to win them over.

No one has ever suggested that we have to reach out to Klobuchar supporters, or Warren supporters, or Harris supporters – so why should Bernie supporters need to be coddled, babied, and cajoled into voting FOR – wait for it – WHOEVER IS RUNNING AGAINST TRUMP?

After four years of Trump’s disastrous “presidency”, I don’t believe the Bernie-or-Bust crowd is what it might have been in 2016. I believe that the vast majority of Bernie supporters have realized that throwing their vote away (by staying home or voting third party) contributed to putting Trump in the WH. I believe that many of them did so only because they believed Hillary was going to win regardless of their votes, so they felt free to cast a ‘protest’ vote by voting for someone else. They have now been disabused of the wisdom of that notion.

At this point, whoever needs to be sweet-talked into getting behind our apparent nominee is no different than the woman who urged Solomon to kill the baby she claimed to be hers – only this time, we’re not talking about the fate of a single child. We are talking about the fate of our country, the fate of our very democracy itself. If you require convincing that getting behind our nominee is imperative, I suggest you review what Trump has said and done in the past three-plus years - then come back and tell me why you need any further enticement to join those determined to kick his ass out of office.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Hillary gave concessions and they didn't appreciate it.. BS brought cornel West on the platform and he campaigned and voted for jill RF stein.

So yeah.. not voting for The Nominee which very much looks like Joe Biden, will only show they care not one thing for their country or our Planet.

fuck them.

Then they are voting for incompetence, greed, corruption, criminality and authoritarianism - the very things their messiah was against.

out his rhetoric on TV tonight and I swear he has started sounding like Trump.

My wife was a true Bernie fan for the last five years. Two weeks ago, she came up to me and said "I am suddenly realizing why you aren't a Bernie fan, and I'm voting for Biden.

She also told me to please remove the Bernie sticker on the back of her car that has been there since the last election.
